There are four levels of Medallion status in the Delta Airlines SkyMiles frequent flyer program: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Each level gives additional rewards. You can accumulate qualifying miles toward Medallion status by flying on Delta airlines and SkyMiles partner airlines. You must accumulate a minimum number of qualifying miles in a single calendar year to achieve medallion status. Qualifying miles are calculated by multiplying your actual miles flown by a factor depending on the class of ticket used. On the same flight, you accumulate more qualifying miles in first, business and full-fare economy class than in discounted economy class.
Join the Delta Airlines SkyMiles program. You can apply online at delta.com or fill out a paper form at any Delta desk in an airport or on any Delta flight.
Use your Delta SkyMiles number on Delta or partner airlines flights. If you forgot to inform the airline of your SkyMiles number, or you do not receive credit for a flight within seven business days of a flight, visit delta.com and fill out the online Airline Mileage Credit Request Form. You must request credit within nine months of a flight.
Fly first class, business class or full-fare economy on Delta or partner airlines to receive 750 qualifying miles per 500-mile segment actually flown. Discounted economy fares award 500 qualifying miles per 500-mile segments flown.
Use your Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer number on the following partner airlines: Aeroflot, AeroMexico, AirEuropa, Air France, Alaska Airlines, Alitalia, China Southern, CSA Czech Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Kenya Airways and Korean Air. Trips on some non-Delta coded flights may earn fewer qualifying miles than trips on Delta-coded flights.
Count segments rather than miles if you take trips of under 500 miles. You must fly a total of 30 qualifying segments to obtain Silver status.
