Miami Seaquarium's Dolphin Harbor allows visitors the opportunity to get face-to-face with dolphins. Experience an interactive presentation to learn about marine mammals. You can also take a dolphin ride in the pool. The Dolphin Encounter program discusses dolphins in a classroom setting. In addition, you get to play, touch and feed the dolphin. Dolphin Harbor also offers a "Trainer for a Day" program where you work with an actual trainer. You get basic training and orientations for the various shows, preparation and critique.
The Miccosukee Indian Village sits in the middle of the Florida Everglades. You get to learn about the tribe's history, culture and lifestyle. Members of the tribe participate in basket weaving, beadwork, doll making and woodwork. In addition, the Miccosukee Indian Museum holds artifacts, clothing and artwork. The Indian Village also offers alligator demonstrations and airboat tours and is open every day throughout the year.
The Everglades Safari Park offers eco-adventure tours, jungle walkways and wildlife shows. The tours take place on an airboat and last 30 to 40 minutes. During the nature show, you see crocodiles, alligators and other exotic animals. While on a jungle walking trail, you can watch birds, flora, reptiles and fauna in the middle of the Everglades. In addition, the attraction has an on-site restaurant.
The city of Miami's family-friendly Grapeland Water Park offers tube rides, four pools and recreational swimming. Children six years old and younger can play on Shipwreck Island. Children five years old and under can enjoy the shallow water and slides at the Pirate's Plunge. The attraction opens every day during the summer months.
