The Coral Castle, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, is a mysterious monument to one man's lost love. The Castle is open everyday starting at 8 AM for guests to explore the more than 1,1000 tons of coral rock that was carved single-handedly by one man, Edward Leedskalnin, from 1923-1951. How this 100 pound man was capable of creating the Coral Castle when he had machinery to help him do so remains unknown to this day, with Leedskalnin only telling those who asked that he knew "the secret of the pyramids". The why to the equation is more readily available. Leedskalnin was engaged at the age of 26 to the love of his life Agnes Scuffs who was only 16 at the time. The day before their wedding was to take place Agnes cancelled the wedding and Ed, who never married, spent the rest of his life working on this testimony to his lost love. Sadly, while countless others have visited the Coral Castle Museum, Agnes Scuffs never did, despite being invited several times.

South Beach is the vision that most conjure up when thinking of traditional Miami settings. Art Deco buildings, beautiful people in convertibles and world-class dining are all expected and can be found here. Since the 1980's this has been a world-class destination. For a night out on the town a walk, or drive, down Collins Avenue will put visitors in the center of the action. D'lounge at the National Hotel, the Sky Bar and Studio can all be found here. Take note that Miami is a very "see and be seen" type of atmosphere so dress to impress to make it in the doors of the more exclusive hot-spots. For those not wanting to partake in the nightlife scene, perhaps a day on the water would be a better fit. At Miami Area Dive Operators, located at 300 Alton in South Beach, guests can schedule water-sports such as parasailing, kayaking, swimming with dolphins or watching the manatees. Shopping, spending a lazy day on the beach, having lunch on the patio of one of the cafes are other activities often enjoyed on South Beach as is the classic past-time of people watching.
