    • Birdsong Nature Center is a 565-acre nature center and bird sanctuary with a mix of pine and hardwood forest, meadowland, ponds and swampland. The facility offers walking trails with guided tours, a butterfly garden, free parking and year-round events.

    Blythe Island Regional Park

    • The 1,100-acre Blythe Island Regional Park between Savannah and Jacksonville offers a freshwater lake, camping, picnic pavilions, a playground and a dock and marina on the South Brunswick River.

    Fallen Star Ranch

    • Fallen Star Ranch offers tours of the facility, which includes appaloosa, pinto and solid color miniature horses. The facility management will make reservations at area hotels for out of town guests upon request.

    Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site

    • Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site is an antebellum rice plantation on the Altamaha River that was in operation until 1913, when it became a dairy. Ophelia Dent, the last heir to the plantation, left the property to the state in 1973. The museum features family silver, furniture and heirlooms and offers a guided tour. It is also a Colonial Coast Birding Trail site.

    Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery

    • Muscadine grapes are native to Georgia and the southeastern United States.

      Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery is an award-winning winery offering free tastings, hayrides, year-round events and, in September, the Grape Stomp and Muscadine Festival. It was the first winery in southeast Georgia, according to its website.

    Southern Forest World

    • Southern Forest World is dedicated to educating tourists about the history of forestry in the southeastern United States, from logging in Okefenokee Swamp to modern tree farming. The best-known exhibit is "Stuckie the Petrified Dog," a dog that was trapped inside a tree and mummified.

    Thomasville Cultural Center

    • The Thomasville Cultural Center is in the East Side Elementary School Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The center offers art classes and workshops and hosts exhibits of regional, state and national artists, an annual concert series and, in November, the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival.
