Everglades Safari Park lets kids safely see alligators and snakes without having to worry about getting eaten. Visitors can take an airboat tour that lasts between 30 and 40 minutes through the Everglades National Park. Guides give a history of the area, while pointing out wildlife and vegetation. Guests can also see a wildlife nature show that features alligators and crocodiles. You can even hold a small alligator named Snappy. The Jungle Trail features exotic birds, fauna, flora, reptiles, a reproduction of a Cherokee Village and an observation deck for pictures of the park.
Kids don't have to worry about knocking over expensive vases at the Miami Children's Museum. The venue encourages kids to learn by participating. The 16 interactive exhibits teach kids a range of skills, including how to care for pets, how to shop for food and how to handle money. Kids can also climb a rock wall and take part in arts and crafts activities. The museum also offers classes such as yoga for moms and their children between 18 months and 36 months, and cooking classes for kids 3 to 10.
The Miami Science Museum makes learning about technology and science fun. Kids can find plenty of exhibits and events that are geared for them. As a bonus, parents and teenagers won't get bored at the museum. Exhibits include learning about energy by dancing, and learning about the human body by playing an interactive computer game that help saves an infected astronaut. The Miami Science Museum also has a planetarium with daily shows about the universe and an observatory with two telescopes.
Zoo Miami features a children's zoo that lets kids have contact with animals such as camels. Kids are also introduced to unusual animals like the blue-tongue skink and the kinkajou. The area includes a butterfly garden, a wildlife-themed carousel and an exhibit room with amphibians, bugs and small reptiles. Additionally, kids can watch meerkats being fed and a "Zoo Scene Investigations" show that educates them about a range of animals from around the world.
