Pack the right amount of clothes based on the length of the trip, activities planned and events scheduled. It is important to have the proper clothing for comfort, style and enjoyment. Pack a few pairs of shoes, socks, under garments and T-shirts. Choose clothing that is appropriate for expected weather conditions.
Pack any needed medications, including aspirin, antacids, allergy pills or prescription medications. If visiting the beach, take along plenty of sun block with a SPF of 30 or higher. It is often helpful to take preventative medications that help ease diarrhea and heartburn. Packing a small container of disinfecting wipes is also suggested.
Pack toiletries used on a daily basis, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hair spray, makeup, hair dryer and cologne. Packing a preferred brand of toilet paper is also suggested to ensure comfort. To be even more prepared, pack shampoo and conditioner, body soap, body scrubber, a towel and a small first-aid kit.
Pack any important documents necessary for the trip, including passports, extra cash and credit cards when traveling out of the country. Pack documents in sealable folders to help protect privacy and contents.
Consider packing a CD player, MP3, laptop computer or even a book to stay entertained while making the journey. Pack hand-held game consoles for children, a cellphone, maps and travel brochures.
