Do not pack fragile items in your suitcase unless it is absolutely necessary. If you must pack breakables, ensure that the items are properly wrapped with a cushioned material. Delta Airlines also offers optional purchased insurance for checked fragile items.
For carry-on bags, large-sized toiletry or personal hygiene products, such as gels, pastes, liquids, cremes, aerosols or sprays are prohibited. All liquids must be 3 oz. or less and placed in a quart-sized clear, plastic bag. Larger-sized liquids, sprays and aerosols must be packed in checked-in luggage.

Ensure that your checked-in suitcase meets the weight and measurement specifications of Delta Airlines. The suitcase should not weigh more than 50 pounds. The combined inches for the length, width and height cannot exceed 62 inches. You incur additional baggage handling fees if your check-in suitcase exceeds the weight and measurement specifications.
Avoid checking in more than two suitcases that meet the weight and measurement specifications. Bringing more suitcases results in additional baggage handling fees.
Check in your luggage using the Delta Airlines website whenever possible. Higher check-in baggage fees are charged if you wait and check your suitcase in at the airport.
Carry-on baggage must fit under the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin and may not exceed a combined length, width and height of 45 inches.
