How to Load a Handheld Tape Dispenser

Taping up a box by hand doesn't usually take a lot of time. You fold the box into position. Then unroll and apply the tape. Cut it to length and you're done. This is a simple procedure if you have only one or two boxes. When you're dealing with a large number of boxes, a hand-held dispenser can save time and effort if you load it properly. Loaded improperly, it will be more trouble than it's worth.

     Press the tape roll onto the holder. The tag end of the tape should be on top with the edge facing the dispenser's cutter.

     Grasp the tag end of the tape and pull about six inches off the roll.

     Thread the tape across the bottom of the roller.

     Pull the tape up to the cutter.

   • 5

     Pull the tape back against the cutter. The tape should stick to the edge of the cutter.
