How to Find Passport Information

According to the Bureau of Consular Affairs, a passport is "a request to foreign governments to permit you to travel or temporarily reside in their territories and access all lawful, local aid and protection." Currently in the United States, you can get a passport book, which allows you to travel internationally by air, and the passport card, which allows you to cross the borders between Canada, Mexico, and sea-ports such as Bermuda. The passport card is cheaper, but less usable if you plan to travel a lot internationally.
