How to Renew Bangladeshi Passport

If you are traveling from Bangladesh and you plan to visit international locations, you will need to have your passport ready. If your passport is nearing the end of its validity, it will be a good idea to renew it. Many countries will not allow you to enter with a passport that has less than six months until it expires. Luckily, renewing a passport does not take as long to process as applying for a passport, and you should have your renewed passport within a few days.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill out the application form for renewal of passport. These forms can be picked up at a Bangladeshi embassy, a local government building (such as a post office) or online.

    • 2

Take your completed passport form as well as your current passport to the Bangladeshi embassy or the government building where you receive the application form. You will not need to take or bring a new passport photograph.

    • 3

Pay for the allotted amount of years you want your passport to be good for. Rates vary from $22 for a one year extension to $165 for five-year passport as of September 2009.

    • 4

Decide how soon you want the passport. Paying the ordinary fee will result in you receiving the passport the next day (the passport must be picked up). If you want to pick up the passport the same day, you will need to select the urgent service type ($33 for one year).
