Where Can I Renew My Thai Passport in the USA?

Without a valid passport, Thai travelers will face a number of difficulties within the United States and with returning to Thailand. Royal Thai Consulates, located throughout the country, offer services for renewing passports as well as replacing those lost or stolen.
  1. Locations

    • Royal Thai Consulates are located in New York, NY; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; and Washington, DC.

    E-Passport Renewal

    • Adults are required to present their previous Thai passport; Thai Citizenship I.D. Card; and $40. Those under 20 years of age must show a previous passport (if applicable); a birth certificate or Citizenship I.D. • Adults are required to present completed renewal application form (2 sets); a Thai reporting form; Thai ID Card (and two photocopies); current passport (and two photocopies); three passport-sized photographs; $35 US Postal Money Order or Cashier's Check. Non-E-passports are being phased out and will not be accepted after July 28, 2010.

    Time Frame

    • Passport renewals may take three to eight weeks to complete.

    Considerations

    • To renew passports, applicants must appear at a Royal Thai Consulate in person.
