How to Apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa with DS-160

Foreigners applying for non-immigrant visas to the United States need to fill out and submit certain forms with their applications. For a long time U.S. embassies required the use of DS-156 and related forms. But these have been replaces with the DS-160. Unlike the DS-156, the DS-160 is fully electronic. The applicant must open, fill out and submit it online.

Come to the US embassy for your interview. Go through the pre-screening and finger-scanning. Because you have already submitted the non-immigrant visa application DS-160, you don't need to submit any forms now. Make sure you present the DS-160 confirmation page as proof of your submission. Let the consul officer review the rest of your paperwork. You will be informed at the end of your interview if you've been granted a non-immigrant visa.
