How to Apply for a Visiting Visa for Singapore

If you're an American citizen with a U.S. passport, you do not need to apply for a visiting visa for Singapore, provided you're staying for 90 days or less. But if you're a national of an assessment level I or level II country, you will need visa regardless of the amount of time you intend to stay.

According to the Singapore government, assessment level I countries include India, Myanmar, Nigeria, China, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. If you have a Hong Kong document of identity or a Macao special administrative region (MSAR) travel permit, you fall under the assessment level I country list.

Assessment level II countries include Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen. Likewise, if you have a Palestinian Authority passport, a United Arab Emirates temporary passport or a Middle Eastern country refugee travel document, you're also on the assessment level II list.
