How to Get a Travel Visa to Ireland

If you are an American citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Ireland for up to 90 days. If you are residing in the United States, however, as a citizen of another country you may need a visa to visit Ireland. Citizens of countries that include Cuba, Serbia and Ghana who live in the United States will need to apply for a visa from within the United States and must have a reference living in Ireland. When your application is completed online, additional materials should be directed to one of the five consulates in the United States.

    • 6

Provide evidence of how you will finance your stay in Ireland. A bank statement that shows your current balance and six month history is acceptable. A list of the consulate office contact information and which applications each location accepts is available on the Embassy of Ireland website at Embassyofireland.org.
