Founded in 1972, the Geva Theatre Center attracts more than 180,000 visitors every year. The theater features musicals and dramas on its main stage, which seats 552 people. On its smaller second stage, the Geva Theatre often holds new play development programs or the Geva Comedy Improv show. Situated on a 13-acre campus, the Rochester Museum and Science Center is home to three floors of interactive exhibits. According to the museum's website, the exhibits focus on science and technology, natural science and regional cultural heritage. The Strasenburgh Planetarium is also located at the museum. It features ongoing astronomy shows and rock music laser light shows. The museum has a collection of more than 1.2 million objects, including items like books, media and photographs.
The Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester is open all year-round. It is home to a wide range of mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and fish that the public can visit and learn about. While visiting the animals, people can eat at the zoo's Eagle's Landing Café. The Seneca Zoo also hosts a number of events throughout the year. It has a "night-at-the-zoo" program during the summer months as well as a "breakfast with Santa" event in December.
Seabreeze Amusement Park is a fun summer attraction open from mid-May to mid-September. The park is home to 70 different attractions. According to the park's website, some of the more popular rides at the park include the Jack Rabbit roller coaster, the Log Flume and the Whirlwind spinning coaster. It also has a waterpark with water slides and rides. Food such as hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and pizza is available at the park.
