Cascades Raptor Center is a nature center and wildlife hospital in Eugene. It is home to more than 60 raptors from 33 different species. Some of the species at the center include owls, eagles, hawks and falcons. Families can take a group tour of the center and look at the day-to-day operations of the facility. Along the tour, children can get a chance to watch some of employees interact with the raptors as well as check out things like skulls, nests, eggs and feathers in the visitor center's display cases. Daily admission varies.

The Science Factory features dozens of interactive hands-on exhibits for children in its Exhibit Hall. Children can learn basics about anatomy, physiology and the immune system in the "Your Healer Within" exhibit or explore the physics behind simple machines and motions in the "Laballotory." The Science Factory also has an iguana and lizard terrarium with an iguana, lizards and several different plants on display. If you have younger children, the Science Factory also has an area designed specifically for children five and under where they can engage in a variety of hands-on activities. Daily admission ranges from $3 to $7.

The Oregon Air & Space Museum is dedicated to educating the public on the history of aviation and space technology. It houses several different aircraft, aircraft engines and flight suits and gear. The museum also has a gift shop located on-site with various memorabilia, such as posters, coffee mugs, calendars and model airplanes. Daily admission ranges from $3 to $7. Children under five get in for free.

The Whittaker Creek Recreation Area offers a wide variety of outdoor activities that the whole family can participate in. Plan a hiking trip and see the diverse wildlife the area has to offer, from large canopy trees like the Douglas fir and the big leaf maple, to animals such as the northern spotted owl, bears and elk. Whittaker Creek Recreation Area also has a campground on-site with 31 campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings.
