Pack clothing items needed for your trip. You may only need a few items or several outfits, depending on the duration of your stay. Pack clothing that fits the occasion. If you plan on spending time on the beach, pack light breathable cotton clothes, bathing suits, sandals, towels and other beach items. Make sure you have pajamas and extra under garments. Pack one or two outfits for each day away from home and include formal wear, if you plan on going out to a nice party or dinner. Place extra shoes in plastic bags and pack socks, jackets or other pieces of clothing that you might need.
Place bathroom items such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, lotions, conditioner and anything else you would use in the bathroom in a plastic bag. You can also tape lotions and shampoo shut to create an extra layer of protection. Keep these items in a separate area of your bag in the front or carry these items in a different bag.
Keep hair items such as blow dryers, curling irons, curl rollers, hair brushes, ties and other accessories separate from lotions, shampoos and other bathroom items. Lotions can leak which can easily ruin a blow dryer and create a mess in a brush or other hair ties. Place dry hair items in a separate plastic bag near your clothing.
Pack a camera, video equipment, tapes and other handy devices that you might need on your trip. Keep these items in the carrying cases they came in and make sure the equipment is secure. Some bags come with straps on the bottom to help secure clothing and other items. Pack these items away from any liquid bathroom items. It's wise to pack equipment in your bag with clothing and keep all bathroom items in a different bag.
