Visit Yangmingshan National Park, whose mountains overlook Taiwan's capital city, Taipei. You'll also find hot springs here.
Check out Fort San Domingo, built by Spaniards in 1629. A museum inside holds many pieces of historic Chinese artwork and artifacts.
The Taipei 101 building is surpassed only by Dubai's "Burj Dubai" as the tallest skyscraper is the world. The building includes a shopping center, restaurants, corporate offices and other attractions.
The National Theater and Concert Hall, which sit side by side in downtown Taipei, offer dance, ballet, opera and kabuki performances by local and international artists.
Go to the Taipei Taiwan Temple, the 31st temple established by the Mormon religion. It is one of a handful of Mormon centers in Asia and Taiwan's home for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a great place to experience a western religion from a Taiwanese perspective.
