Chelsea, NYC Restaurants & Night Clubs

Chelsea is an upscale neighborhood located on the west side of Manhattan. The streets in the neighborhood are often used as movie and TV show sets. Visitors enjoy celebrity watching in the area and shopping at a number of upscale shops. Chelsea is also one of the hottest party spots in the city and the home to some of the city's most famous restaurants.

  1. Il Bastardo

    • Chelsea's Il Bastardo focuses on authentic Italian fare and steak-based meals. Starters include Gorgonzola-filled mushroom caps and tagliere misto, an assortment of cured meats, gourmet cheeses and olives. A list of homemade pasta entrees is also available and includes potato gnocchi, rigatoni with eggplant, and bolognese. Steak dishes include a house-speciality salsa-marinated skirt steak and rosemary crusted sirloin. The vibe of the establishment is upscale in nature and the building has been used as a set for TV shows such as "The Hills." A wine bar located on site serves hundreds of fine wines and speciality cocktails.

    Bombay Talkie

    • Bombay Talkie fuses Indian street food with the gourmet culinary traditions of Southern India. Appetizers include assorted wheat chips and rice puffs with green mango chutney and homemade grilled bread served alongside a plate of fresh vegetables and ginger. Main dishes include Bombay Talkie's signature dish, ginger-marinated tandoori grilled lamb chops with cilantro and mint sauce. A popular vegetarian dish known as malai kofta features dumplings stuffed with cheese, coconut, raisins and yogurt sauce. Guests also enjoy the upscale bar area that serves a long menu of cocktails with a focus on custom-made martinis.

    Home

    • Home is known to be a hot spot for celebrities in NYC and its website boasts photos of several in the club including Russel Simmons and Tara Reid. The mood of the space is chic and classy. Guests can sit on leather furnishings under mood lighting and enjoy music from house DJs or visiting DJs. Home features 32 tables surrounding a large dance floor that is flanked by over 35 feet of bar space. Home also features a modern sound system with hundreds of speakers and a light show that moves to the music.

    Marquee

    • Marquee is another option for dancers and late-nighters to party it up a bit in Chelsea. This massive space was once a warehouse but has been totally revamped. Designers have added over $1 million in sound and video equipment at Marquee to keep the party moving constantly. Unlike most clubs in the area, the menu of music at Marquee ranges away from just techno and dance beats. The focus is on mash-ups of rap, rock, top 40 songs and on some dance-based music on rotating nights. The bar at Marquee serves handmade specialty cocktails with a focus on color, flavor and style.
