Grizzly Jack's Grand Bear Lodge in Utica, Illinois, is a family-friendly destination. The resort is next to Starved Rock State Park and supplies its own entertainment with indoor water and amusement parks.
The lodge's 92 rooms consist of suites, king, family, bunk bed, whirlpool or deluxe family accommodations. Microwaves, mini fridges, cable television, sofa sleepers and Wi-Fi are standard in all rooms. Guests can choose from king- or queen-size beds. Villas and cabins are also available for rental.
A 24,000-square-foot indoor water park and 36,000-square-foot indoor amusement park offer activities for guests of all ages. Both are free of charge to guests of the resort. The water park has a lazy river and zero-depth-entry wave pool. Full-size rides at the amusement park include the classic Tilt-A-Whirl and The Growler, which spins riders in several directions.
Lumberjack's Pizzeria and Sports Bar located in the amusement park offers guests a break from all the activities. In addition to pizza, burgers and nachos are also on the menu. A salad bar is available during weekends. The Grizzly Bean Cafe and The Honey Pot Sweet Shop that overlook the water park area offer quick-service meals, desserts and coffee.
