      The Birch Creek Unit camping facilities, which lie adjacent to the Lake Somerville Trailway, provide a variety of sites for almost every type of camper.     Lake Somerville State Park: Nails Creek & Trailway

    • Located on the southwest shore of Somerville Lake, the pet-friendly Nails Creek Unit camping facilities offer 20 campsites with water and electrical options for use. In addition, horse lovers can choose from 10 equestrian campsites near the Somerville Trailway with water areas. Nails Creek includes a kids' fishing pond and fish-cleaning shelters to make a child's first or 100th fishing adventure pleasurable. In addition, the campsite provides two group picnic pavilions for families to enjoy. Campers may also take pleasure in the 16 miles of trails surrounding the campgrounds in addition to the Somerville Trailway, or they can go swimming, boating and water skiing on the lake.

    Rocky Creek Park

    • Rocky Creek Park offers campers a three-mile nature trail to explore.

      Rocky Creek Park, located on the south side of Lake Somerville, includes 34 campsites with 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service and water hookups, in addition to 75 nonelectric sites and 46 primitive sites, both with water available. Rocky Creek Park, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, features restrooms, showers, group shelter, nature trails and a boat ramp. The park provides numerous recreational activities from which to choose, such as biking, bird watching or hiking through the three-mile nature trail, or swimming, fishing, sailing, boating and water skiing in the lake.
