Lake Whitney itself has its own campground located in Lake Whitney State Park. Campsites include those with or without shade, 71 sites with water only, 66 spots with water and electricity and primitive campsites with no utilities. Pull-through sites are available. The campground also has a dump station, restrooms and showers. The Lake Whitney State Park campground provides a group recreation hall, which has heating and air conditioning, along with a full kitchen. Guests can also find a group camp with a dining hall, eight screened shelters, a fish-cleaning station, a playground and a boat launch. Reservations can be made by email, fax, phone and online through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.

Arrowhead Resort is a lakeside community that offers cabin and RV rentals. Besides fishing, swimming and boating, guests at the resort can play basketball, volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard, as well as rent movies or swim in the resort pool. People without their own boats and canoes can rent them at the resort. Cabins include a three-room bunkhouse suitable for families, single cabins with one bed, double cabins, rustic cedar cabins and deluxe Jacuzzi cabins. The resort has pull-through and back-in RV sites, all with full hook-ups and picnic tables. No pets are allowed in cabins, but one pet under 20 lbs. is allowed for RV campers.

Rose Harbor RV Park is a small, shady RV park with access to Lake Whitney and Cedar Creek State Park. Guests can play volleyball and horseshoes on-site. The campground offers restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Sites come with 30- or 50-amp electricity. Rose Harbor has daily, weekly and monthly rates, as well as RV storage.
