Cotile Lake Recreational Area is around Cotile Lake, a 1,775-acre man-made lake about 15 miles from Alexandria. The lake area contains a large beach area with a bathhouse. Water-skiing areas are cleared to ensure the safety of skiers. Several picnic areas give visitors a place to convene for meals. Campsites are basic, including only picnic tables, barbecue grills and access to a restroom with showers.

Kisatchie National Forest is spread over 604,000 acres of land. This area contains bayous, pine trees and a multitude of hiking trails. Kincaid Lake Campgrounds is just one of the camp facilities available at Kisatchie. The Kincaid Lake area features three campgrounds with access to a swimming beach, boat launch and a group of hiking trails. Campsites include water and electrical hookups, showers and flush toilets.

Stuart Lake Campground is in the Kisatchie National Forest on Stuart Lake. Stuart Lake is a small 5-acre lake surrounded by secluded forest. Campsites are basic with no hookups, but they do include picnic tables, fire rings, barbecue grills and access to a swim beach, fishing and hiking trails.
