Join the American Airlines AAdvantage program. Please see Resources for the website. Fill out the online application form and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. Enrollment is free and mileage accumulation will begin with your first eligible flight, credit card purchase or eligible transaction with a listed AA partner.
Accumulate points and miles between January 1 and December 31 of any given year. The total amount of points you amass in this period will determine your membership status. Your points are immediately assessed and your memberships status adjusted when eligible flights are booked or purchases made.
Monitor your account status by logging in to the American Airlines website and using your AAdvantage number and password in the "My Account" link on the AAdvantage tab drop down menu. An up to the minute record of your accumulated points and membership status is provided. As an AAdvantage member you will also receive a monthly ESummary from American Airlines which will provide a record of all transactions and status.
Accumulate 25,000 or more points and/or miles and you will be qualified and automatically placed into Gold AAdvantage Elite status. Accumulate 50,000 or more miles and/or points and you will be qualified for and automatically placed into Platinum AAdvantage Elite status. Accumulate 100,000 or more miles and/or points and you will be qualified for and automatically placed into Executive Platinum AAdvantage Elite status .
