As at October 2010, Delta Air Lines serves more than 160 million passengers annually. The airline flies to 351 destinations and offers more than 13,000 daily flights.
Delta Air Lines loyalty programs include the Sky Miles service which was established in 1981 and has more than 74 million members (as of 2010). The airline also offers the Business Elite service and has more than 50 Delta Sky Clubs in airports across the world.
Delta has a number of hubs worldwide including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Memphis, New York-JFK, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Narita. The airline states that the Atlanta hub is the "world's largest airline hub, with 1,000 daily departures to 212 destinations."
In 1947, Delta started the Great Circle Route to Asia; destinations included Tokyo and Manila. Delta pioneered use of the hub system in 1955. Delta became a founder of the Sky Team Alliance in the year 2000. The Sky Team Alliance is a global alliance of airlines.
