How to Park at the Minneapolis Airport

The Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) airport is easy to navigate, with user-friendly parking facilities. MSP is located in Bloomington, Minnesota, south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Before creating a plan for parking, figure out which terminal from which you are leaving. The Lindbergh terminal is the larger, main terminal and offers general, short-term and valet parking, while the Humphrey terminal is much smaller, offering MSP value-parking and short-term only. A free lightrail connects the terminals.

Instructions

    • 1

Figure out which airline you are traveling on and which terminal from which you will depart. As of 2009, the following airlines were based in the terminals:

Lindbergh: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways.

Humphrey: Air Tran Airways, Icelandair, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines.

    • 2

Decide how much you are willing to pay, and explore each terminal option. There is a free lightrail that connects the terminals but will add 30 minutes to your travel time. MSP Value Parking can be used by either terminal if you account for the extra time needed.

    • 3

Drive to the airport and follow the road signs to the parking facility of your choice.

    • 4

After parking, record details of which level, section and row you parked in so that you can easily find your car upon returning.

    • 5

Depending on which parking lot you chose, proceed to either the Humphrey or Lindbergh terminal by following signs.
