The Specifications of the 1982 35hp Evinrude Outboard

Now owned by Bombardier, Evinrude began producing outboard engines in 1909. In 1982, Evinrude offered over 16 different models of outboard engines. Each engine was also available in several variants. The 1982 Evinrude 35 came in four versions: 35 Long Electric, 35 Long Rope, 35 Standard Electric and 35 Standard Rope.

  1. Features

    • The Evinrude 35 offered a breakerless ignition system, pressure-back piston rings, a slow-speed system and saltwater protection. With temperature-controlled cooling, the 35 also featured vibration isolation, a prop exhaust and sealed ignition coils. Other design elements included cross-flow charging and a full gearshift with Nitro series gear-case. Shallow-water drive protection was standard on engines with rope starters. All 1982 models of the Evinrude 35 provided one-hand trim adjustment and trolling controls.

    Specifications

    • The Evinrude 35 was a two-cylinder engine that could produce 35 hp at 5,500 rpm. With a single carburetor and a 6-gallon gas tank, the 35 had a recommended wide-open-throttle range of 5,200 to 5,800 rpm.

    Propellers

    • A 10-inch by 13-inch, three-blade aluminum propeller came with all models of the Evinrude 35. Two other propellers were available as aftermarket upgrades: a 10- by 13-inch aluminum propeller with a 7- to 17-inch pitch, or a 10- by 13-inch stainless steel propeller with a 9-inch to 12-inch pitch.
