Park your RV on a level location. Chock the wheels. RVs should be level and stable prior to doing any work.
Use the exterior stairs on the RV or a ladder and climb on top of your RV. Identify a location for the vent. Measure and mark a 14-inch square at this location. Use the proximity of existing roof penetrations (such as waste tank vent line) to make sure this location will be in the desired area in the interior of the RV.
Drill a 1 inch hole at one corner of the 14-inch square. Starting at the 1 inch hole cut open a 14-inch square opening using the utility saw.
Apply a strip of silicone approximately 1/4 inch wide along the edges of the 14-inch square opening.
Place the RV roof vent on the 14-inch opening and press down to seat the vent on the silicone caulking. Place the screws provided with the vent into the holes pre-drilled into the vent flashing. Use the appropriate screwdriver to drive screws until tight.
