This park, maintained by the National Park Service, offers camping from primitive to RV sites with more amenities. Primitive sites offer few amenities, while basic tent campsites include restrooms, picnic tables, fire grills and lantern posts. RV sites are furnished with electricity, showers and dump stations. While most of the park's campgrounds are open year-round, water is only available seasonally. Reservations can be made at recreation.gov, but they are only available for RV sites.

Mark Twain National Forest maintains several campgrounds, so one is sure to be conveniently located for you. Lane Creek is the campground in the park closest to the center of Texas County and is near Houston. Some campgrounds are close to ATV trails and some are more conveniently located near towns, but all boast hiking trails. The website provides a description of each campground's amenities and number of sites. Reservations can be made for RV sites at recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-6777.

Centrally located between the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the Willow Springs Forest near the Jacks Forks and Current rivers, this campground accommodates RVs and tents and rents cabins. Amenities include restrooms with showers, a store, clubhouse, laundry room and a library-style book exchange. The campground hosts bluegrass music at the store every Friday night.
