More than 80 of its sites are pull-throughs, and all of them come with free cable TV and high-speed Internet access. Propane is available for sale, along with a laundry facility, restrooms, showers, a store and a clubhouse for group meetings and events. The Fair Harbor RV Park also has walking trails. Forsyth KOA

• The Forsyth KOA, which is approximately 23 miles northwest of Macon, gives campers the option of staying on RV sites, tents sites or in one-room cabins. The RV sites are full hook-ups with up to 50-amp electric and provide cable TV for no charge. The sites, which are in shaded areas, have a maximum pull-through length of 100 feet. Recreational facilities include a picnic pavilion, fishing and a swimming pool. Modem data ports and wireless Internet are also available. The KOA has a snack bar, restrooms, showers and bicycle rentals. Firewood is available for a charge. Some of the sites are along the lake.

Scenic Mountain RV Resort

• The Scenic Mountain RV Resort, approximately 30 minutes to the northeast of Macon, encompasses 108 acres and can handle the largest of RVs. It has 77 RV sites in quiet settings that are equipped with water, sewer and electrical hookups up to 50 amps. Two clubhouses are on the property along with a convenience store that sells RV parts and supplies. There are bathrooms, showers and a dog walk. The resort offers a swimming pool and spa, five stocked ponds for fishing, and allows campers to bring their own horses. More features include a restaurant, picnic pavilions, cable TV, paved streets, laundry rooms, and a propane-filling station. The resort has also cabins that can be rented and provides golf carts for a charge.
