Port Isabel Park Center

• Port Isabel Park Center offers campsites for vans, pop-up campers, tents and recreational vehicles. Located in Port Isabel, at the foot of the Queen Isabella Causeway Bridge that leads to South Padre Island, the Center provides 200 full-hookup sites for recreational vehicles. Port Isabel Park Center meters electricity for full hookups and bills for the actual amount used. Campground features include cable television at hookup sites, shower and restroom facilities, laundry facilities, a recreation room with a pool table, and a car wash. The Center provides a boat ramp and private docking facilities, and guests can fish from the dock. Organized activities, available November to April, include line-dancing lessons, pot luck dinners and bingo.

Tarpon RV Park

• Tarpon RV Park in Port Isabel provides 40 sites for recreational vehicles, as well as 20 boat slips. Tarpon RV Park features a fishing pier with a fish-cleaning area, laundry facilities, shower and restroom facilities, and a clubhouse that includes a full kitchen. Park activities include a potluck dinner every other Saturday and non-denominational church services. Local area attractions include the Treasures of the Gulf Museum, Port Isabel Historic Museum and the Port Isabel Lighthouse. Outdoor area activities include golfing at 16 area golf courses and fishing for great speckled trout, drum and sand trout.

South Padre Island KOA

• Just across the Queen Isabella Causeway Bridge, three miles from downtown Port Isabel, the South Padre Island KOA in South Padre Island provides campsites for recreational vehicles up to 80 feet in length. The KOA offers full hookups, including 50-amp electric and cable television service. The campground features Wi-Fi Internet service, a store, a meeting room, an on-site restaurant and bar and a fitness center. Other campground amenities include a year-round swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and an outdoor cinema. Kids can play on the KOA playground and adults can take advantage of one of the many fitness classes, which include pool aerobics, tone and stretch classes and floor aerobics.
