Minutes away from Lake Erie, Shade Acres Campground and Cottages is close to beaches and good fishing. Air-conditioned cottages under mature shade trees also include TVs and private baths, and some have kitchen facilities. Each cottage features individual parking, fire rings, grills and picnic tables. Close to boat-launching facilities, the camp features a fish-cleaning area for fishermen. While pets can stay in RVs or at the campsites, they are not permitted in the cottages. Children can play on the campground's playground, and the African Safari Wildlife Park is a five-minute drive away.

This state park offers five camper cabins with air-conditioning for rent from April to October. Two cedar cabins, with similar amenities to RVs, are available for rent by day or week. The park does not permit pets in the cabins. Grand Lake St. Mary's includes a swimming beach, boat docks and launches, miniature golf and complimentary wireless Internet access. This state park on Lake Erie has 24 cabins, all fully-equipped with heating, air conditioning and gas fireplaces. Choose from two- or four-bedroom cottages, some of which permit pets. Go golfing on the 18-hole park course, hike or bike the 5 miles of trails, swim in the private lake or in Lake Erie, or bring your boat to sail or fish. In winter, go cross-country skiing, sledding or ice-skating. The park rents kayaks and personal watercraft during the summer.
