Tennessee's state parks offer just about every activity an outdoor enthusiast could dream up. Biking, boating, hiking, swimming and horseback round out the list of recreational opportunities. Most of the parks in Tennessee also have camp sites for kicking up the feet after a hard day's play. For those who require sturdier accommodations, however, there are cabins that range from rustic to regal.
Fishing and boating on Lake Placid are popular activities at the west Tennessee Park, just 18 miles south of Jackson. Chickasaw has 13 cabins available for rental, year round. These "vacation cottages" all come equipped with television and working fireplaces.
