Dan Nicholas Park is a family campground with 12 sites on a 10-acre fishing lake. Sixty-seven sites have 30- and 50-amp electric service. Rent one of 17 covered picnic shelters or play bingo and sing karaoke. Visit the concession for snacks, drinks and permits for fishing on the lake. You can also feed ducks or take a paddle boat ride. Senior citizens ages 60 or over and kids under three fish for free. Six family cabins are also available for rent.

Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort is located on the banks of Lake Norman in Sherrills Ford, NC. Thirty-two of the 58 RV sites have an unobstructed, panoramic view of the lake. Thirty- and 50-amp electric service and water connections are available. All sites have concrete pads, picnic tables and free Internet access. Amenities include a perimeter lined with a wrought iron fence, security cameras and trash pick-up every morning. Facilities are an on-site lakeside store, a bathhouse, laundry facilities, a playground, a fenced-in pet park and four piers, a boat ramp and dock slips. You receive a welcome package that includes trash bags, a map of the resort and a site key similar to a hotel key for gates and for making on-site purchases. Rent a boat and go fishing or and water skiing on the lake or simply view local wildlife.
