How to Enable WAN Print at an Airport

If you have a Macintosh laptop and a USB printer, then you can use these items to print a document at an airport with Internet access. There are specific steps you must follow to forge a connection and direct your document to a printer base. Write down the steps on an index card and slip it into your laptop bag to ensure you have the directions at hand.

  Open the "AirPort Admin Utility." Click "Applications" and then "Utilities."

  Select a base station from the list provided on the screen, and press the "Configure" button.

  Press the "Network" tab and click the check mark off the box beside "Distribute IP Addresses."

  Open your "AirPort Admin Utility" again if this does not work. Click a base station, followed by "Configure." Press the "Base Station Options" icon. Check the box beside "Enable Remote Printer Access." Press "Update."
