Children of all ages are welcome at the Pony Express Museum, which celebrated the sesquicentennial of the beginning of the Pony Express back in 2010. Some of the exhibits include a blacksmith's shop, coins from the 1860s, and a harness shop. Kids can create their own souvenir to take home on the museum's penny press. The museum also has an exhibit geared especially for children called "Family Life on the Frontier" that provides frontier costumes for kids to use.
The Remington Nature Center tracks the impact of civilization on nature starting in 10,000 BC. They have several educational courses teaching kids about subjects such as tornadoes, bugs and birds. Most of the classes are for ages four to twelve. But a few are for all ages. The center has a collection of furs that children can pick up and touch, a working beehive and a 7,000-gallon aquarium full of native fish.
This water park offers activities for all ages. The park has attractions such as two large slides and a 300-foot float ride and a waterfall. The park does stipulate that children under four feet tall are not allowed on slides. However, there are several attractions for toddlers and young children. They have an artificial beach with a zero depth entry and a kid swimming and play area.
St. Joe Corn Maze is an outdoor corn themed amusement park for all ages. They have two mazes cut in a cornfield that form intricate pictures when seen from the air. There is a large, "Advanced" maze for the older kids and a "Beginner" maze for young children. There are other attractions on the property such as hayrides, face painting and pedal tractors. The Corn Maze has produce such as corn and pumpkins for sale, along with a concession stand. The price you pay upon admission includes all activities.
