How to Cancel a Ticket on Delta Without a Charge

Delta Air Lines is a United States-based airline serving over 350 destinations in more than 65 countries. Delta allows you to cancel most eTickets purchased through Delta within 24 hours of the original purchase without a charge. To cancel your ticket, you will need to locate and cancel your reservation using the Delta website. Delta does not allow you to cancel tickets without a charge after the initial 24-hour period.

Instructions

  Go to the Delta homepage (delta.com) within 24 hours of the original ticket purchase.

  Click the "My Trips" tab on the left side of the homepage.

  Enter the first and last name associated with the reservation and the confirmation number for the reservation in the appropriate fields. Alternatively, you can locate your reservation with your SkyMiles number, credit card number or eTicket number.

  Click the red "Go" button.

  Press the "Cancel" button to cancel your Delta ticket without a charge. You will receive a refund automatically to your original form of payment.

  Send an email to Delta ([email protected]), if you purchased your ticket at a Delta ticket counter, to receive a refund for the direct ticketing charge. You still need to cancel the ticket online, prior to sending this email. If you purchased your ticket online, you do not need to send this email.
