Instructions

    • 1

Carefully read the list from the rental company outlining what will be supplied on the houseboat and what you need to bring.

    • 2

Make a list, adding items you think of to the list from the rental company. Check things off as they are packed.

    • 3

Plan a menu for the time you will be there. This should drive your shopping list of food and beverages.

    • 4

Decide what clothes will be needed. You will not be able to wash clothes without going ashore, so include everything from sleepwear to bathing suits.

    • 5

Pack bed linens for all beds and other linens such as towels and dish cloths if these will not be supplied.

    • 6

Think of opportunities for reacreation. Bring frisbees, board games, videotapes (if a VCR will be on the houseboat), CDs, water toys and other fun things to do - and don't forget the cameras!

    • 7

Bring essentials such as sunscreen, insect repellent, flashlights, a portable radio and a first-aid kit.

    • 8

Bring your own personal watercraft if you have them. These are handy for getting around the lake without having to manuever the houseboat. If you don't own any, these can usually be rented at the marina.

    • 9

Buy last-minute essentials such as ice on your way to the marina.
