Go to travel.state.gov/passport to find a local passport agency office, or call your City Hall for information.
Click on the link on the left of the page that says "Get Passport in a Hurry."
Submit the DS-82 required for any passport application either at the office or by mail. Write "Expedite" on the outside of the envelope. Include the current fee for expedited service and overnight delivery costs. As of 2011, the fee was $60 per application.
If you must leave the country immediately due to a life or death emergency, you must appear in person at a passport agency and request the service. Call 1-877-487-2778 for more information, or to arrange an appointment to speak with an agent.
