Florida is a popular tourist destination boasting many attractions from Disneyland to Busch Gardens. The state is also home to natural attractions, such as the Everglades and miles of beaches. Tourism development and the construction of new attractions is constantly underway in Florida.
  1. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

    • This Harry Potter-themed section of Universal Orlando Resort opened on June 18, 2010 and allows you to experience life in Harry Potter's magical world as a muggle. The Wizarding World boasts three rides: the Dragon Challenge, Flight of the Hippogriff and Harry Potter in the Forbidden Journey. You will also be able to enjoy shopping as you wonder through the streets of Hogsmeade. There you can explore the shops made famous in the Harry Potter series, such as Honeydukes and Zonko's. You will also be able to dine like Harry Potter at the Three Broomsticks Restaurant & Hogshead Pub, which serves traditional British fare and delicacies mentioned in the books.

      A variety of ticket options are available. As of October, 2010, if you purchase tickets online, you will receive a $10 discount off of the gate price. Also if you buy a multi-day park-to-park ticket, you will receive a coupon book worth up to $150 in savings.

    Sesame Street Safari of Fun

    • Busch Gardens opened the Sesame Street Safari of Fun in March of 2010. As the name suggests, this attraction is an African-themed safari that is full of all of your favorite Sesame Street characters. The Safari of Fun is essentially a giant playground with rides aimed at small children. In fact, certain rides require children to be no taller than 56 inches. Live shows starring the Sesame Street crew are also held.

      As of October, 2010, Florida and Georgia residents are eligible for discounted tickets to Busch Gardens.

    Sum of All Thrills

    • Epcot's newest attraction was added to Innoventions East in early 2010. It is a simulator that allows you to design your own adventure. You attend an orientation, then design your ride and once it has been designed, you are assigned a robotic 4-D simulator where you get to experience your creation.

      You can buy tickets for multiple days and, as of October, 2010, the more days you purchase, the price per day decreases. Epcot tickets that include admission to other theme parks are also available.

    Legoland Florida

    • Scheduled to open in the fall of 2011, Legoland Florida, is geared to children ages 2 through 12. Park features include rides, shows and other attractions based on LEGO toy bricks.
