The children museum of Cleveland opened in 1986 in the city's University Circle cultural center. What was once a one-exhibit traveling outreach program, is now a multi-exhibit museum housed in more than 2,400 square feet of space. Visitors can expect to enjoy many hands on, interactive play activities. The exhibits are each developed to enhance the development and leaning abilities of children ages birth to eight. Creative and innovative play along with hands-on learning are incorporated at the Children Museum of Cleveland.

The Great Lakes Science center has more than 400 exhibits for visitors to explore. Some of the more popular exhibits are The Bridge of Fire, where volts of electric currents makes the hair stand straight up on heads, the NASA Glen Visitors Center, which holds artifacts from space exploration and the IMAX Theater, where visitor can watch movies on a screen six stories high.
