Parks in Chino Hills, California

In the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County, California, Chino Hills is close to several metropolitan cities yet remains a rural community with only a handful of property owners. The rolling hills are home to mule deer, red tail hawks, ground squirrels, cottontail rabbits, mountain lions, and coyotes. Owing to its geographical location, Chino Hills boasts of 3,000 acres of publicly-owned open space, 40 parks and several miles of trails.
  1. Chino Hills State Park

    • About 10 miles northwest of Corona, Chill Hills State Park is a critical link in the Puente-Chino Hills biological corridor. The park encompasses stands of oaks and sycamores. The rolling, grassy hills and woodlands of the park stretch nearly 31 miles, from the Santa Ana Mountains to the Whittier Hills. The park features camping sites, picnic area, pipe corals, an equestrian staging area, water spigots, and restrooms. Drinking water is available at the Equestrian Staging area, the Rolling M Ranch area and the Bane Canyon Picnic areas. Due to high fire danger, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the park but campfires are allowed in specially designated areas. The park has strict rules and regulations regarding pets. Dogs are not allowed in the park except at McLean Overlook, Bane Canyon Road, the Rolling M Ranch, and in the campgrounds. The park is open to the public from 8 a.m. to sunset.

    English Springs Park

    • At the corner of Grand Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway, English Springs Park is one of the smaller parks around Chino Hills. Amenities around the park include a children's playground, basketball half-courts, volleyball court, gazebos, picnic tables, barbecue area, and restrooms. The picnic tables, the basketball and the volleyball courts are available on a first come, first served basis, but visitors can book the gazebo in advance. Both residents and non-residents of Chino Hills can reserve the gazebo by contacting Founders Recreation Center on Founders Drive or at City Hall on City Center Drive. The park is open daily to the public from 8 a.m. until sunset.

    Chino Hills Community Park

    • Nestled on the northwest corner of Peyton Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue, Chino Hills Community Park has a total land area of 33 acres. As one of the primary recreational areas in Chino Hills, the park features a children's playground, six ball fields with soccer overlays, soft-toss batting cages and bullpens for pitchers' warm-ups. The playing fields of the park have state-of-the-art lighting systems and synthetic turf fields, which make them impervious to heavy rains. The park also features two restroom buildings conveniently located within a few yards of the playing fields, a snack bar and ample parking space.
