The cafe offers a range of mugs, plates or fridge magnets that children or adults can paint and decorate. The cafe supplies the paint, stamps and books to inspire artistic ideas. Mugs and plates start from around $14 and fridge magnets are as little as $3.20 (as of January 2011). You can paint and decorate your item and then leave it with the cafe to glaze and you can collect it a week later or you can paint in acrylic and take the item away that day. The cafe also has coffee, drinks and homemade cakes for you to enjoy. Pot 'N' Kettle welcomes breast-feeding mothers and has milk-warming facilities for baby bottles.     Denz Indoor Play and Party Centre

      Denz Indoor Play and Party Centre is located on Queens Road in Beeston and offers a four-level soft play area for children up to 150 cm tall. There is a separate play area for young children with a crawl area and soft shapes. The Party Centre offers children's parties from $13.50 (as of January 2011) per child, which includes a hot and cold menu, unlimited drinks, a cake ceremony and a party host. Denz is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Normal admission price is $7.15 per child (as of January 2011).

    Attenborough Nature Reserve

      Attenborough Nature Reserve was opened by Sir David Attenborough in 1966 and is best known for its birds. There are many children's activities, such as Tiny Tots, which runs once a month for two- to four-year-olds and offers a chance for little ones to explore the world around them. Sessions run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Booking is essential. Wild Kids is also a monthly event for children over four years of age who can find out about nature. This session runs from 1:30 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. There is no need to book, and each session has a different nature theme. Young Rangers runs on a monthly basis on Saturdays for 13- to 16-year-olds and offers bush-craft, wildlife surveys and conservation work. This session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and booking is recommended. The park also has a shop and cafe that stocks organic, fair-trade and local produce. The Attenborough Centre is open on weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on weekends 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free to the Nature Reserve.

    The Beekeeper Pub

      The Beekeeper is a pub located in Beeston that offers a range of activities for both adults and children. The Beekeeper has an indoor soft play area for children, and children's parties are catered for. Family Theme days are run on a regular basis and there is a pool table, plasma-screen televisions, dart boards, quiz night, an outdoor playground and a large seating area. The Beekeeper Indoor Play Area is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 9 p.m. A parents and toddlers group runs every Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The pub also offers meals including a children's menu.
