How to Book a Greyhound Bus Trip

Greyhound serves more than 3,100 destinations and 22 million passengers in North America every year. The bus fleet is composed of over 1,200 vehicles. Each bus takes the equivalent of 20 cars off the road. Fuel mileage is an astonishing 162 passenger miles per gallon. You can book passage online or over the phone.

      Go to Greyhound's website. The homepage instantly allows you to check ticket information. A "will call" fee is added to tickets purchased online.

      Choose between one-way or round trip travel. Type in where you're leaving from and click on your travel dates. Select the number of passengers and click on "Search Schedule."

      Select the exact bus stop if there's more than one in the city you're traveling to or from. The website will ask you to confirm your location.

      Click on any discount or fare specials you're eligible for. This includes the Student or Veteran Advantage Discount cards. Click "No Discount" to continue.

      Watch as departure and arrival schedules are displayed on the screen. Choose the times that work best for you. The schedules will tell you the departure and arrival times, trip duration and transfer information.

      Click on "Fares." If you like what you see, click on "Purchase." Enter your contact information and credit card number. Print the ticket purchase confirmation page so you have all the information you need. You can now pick up your tickets at the station one hour prior to departure. The credit card holder must present his card when he picks up the tickets.
