Winterize your motor home. If you're in a cold climate, you need to prepare your Toyota Odyssey for winter storage. Turn off the the refrigerator and other electrical appliances before you shut down the power supply. Shut off the plumbing and use nontoxic antifreeze to prevent the pipes from freezing. Inspect the Odyssey for any holes that rodents could get through and stuff them with aluminum wool.
Store the vehicle properly. Leaving a motor home outside can expose it to the elements such as wind, rain, snow, salt and sunlight. If you can't store your Toyota Odyssey in a garage, put it under an open porch covering or buy an RV cover. Park it away from an area that is prone to mud or standing water so that the tires and chassis don't get wet and damaged.
Get checkups. A motor home needs checkups by a licensed mechanic just as any other vehicle. It should have regular oil changes and inspections of the brakes, brake fluid, coolant, tires, alignment, battery and all other mechanical components. A good time for your Toyota Odyssey's checkup is when you take it out of winter storage and before you use it for the first big trip of the season.
