Family Campgrounds in Tennessee & Georgia

Tennessee and Georgia encompasses numerous family-friendly campgrounds, many of which sit near major attractions, including Dollywood’s Splash Country, Stone Mountain Park and Shenandoah National Park. Campground activities range from fishing, boating and swimming to volleyball.     • Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg KOA sits near the Little Pigeon River. This campground provides RV sites, cabins and tent campsites from April to November. Facilities include a camping kitchen, restrooms, a fitness center and a meeting room. Other amenities include a hot tub, complimentary wireless Internet access and cable television connection. Activities for a fee include tours of the area and fishing and rafting in the Smoky Mountains. Area attractions include Dollywood in Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountain Car Museum in Gatlinburg.

    Big Meadow Family Campground

    • The Big Meadow Family Campground is open throughout the year and offers 30 large sites, 77 level sites, 58 pull-throughs and 19 back-in sites. Large sites and back-in campsites include concrete pads, patios and 30- or 50-amp electricity. Facilities include an exercise room, laundry center, pavilion, game room, on-site camp store and bathhouses. Area activities include biking, playing horseshoes and tubing.

    Stone Mountain Park Campground

    • Stone Mountain Park Campground offers 432 campsites. The campground includes 202 RV full-hookup sites, 191 sites with water and electricity and 56 primitive tent sites. Amenities include fire rings, barbecue grills, laundry room, volleyball courts, a children’s playground, comfort stations, free Wi-Fi access, a swimming pool and an on-site store stocked with LP gas, bait, firewood, camping supplies and groceries. The campground also offers some schedule events, including movie night, Bingo and morning socials. Campsite spaces are available on first-come, first-served basis; however, the campground accepts reservations with a three-night minimum stay. Attractions in the park include Grist Mill, Confederate Memorial Carving and the Quarry Exhibit. On-site dining options include Granite Café, Mountain View Restaurant and Miss Katie’s Restaurant.
