Skidaway Island State Park is a 588-acre state park located five miles south of downtown Savannah. It offers an 87-campsite campground with all pull-through sites. Sites include water, electric and cable TV hook-ups along with fire ring, grill and picnic table. There are five picnic pavilions spread around the park along with modern restrooms and a laundry facility. The park is made up of saltwater marshes and lowlands that are full of wildlife and include two hiking trails that are one and three miles in length. Other outdoor activities include a playground, outdoor swimming pool and education explorer programs that teach adults and children about the animals and plants of the area.

Bellaire Woods Campground is located 15 miles west of downtown Savannah and offers 24 wooded acres of camping on the Ogeechee River. It offers large pull-through sites that include a concrete pad, full hook-up and cable TV along with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring. There are modern bath houses that are heated and air conditioned that include private showers and restrooms. Other amenities include a laundry room, play ground and convenience store that carries food and supplies as well as gas and diesel. Bellaire Woods has a boat launch for guests to access the river by boat or canoe where they can explore the wildlife or fish for pan-fish and bass.

Savannah South Koa is located 18 miles south of downtown Savannah in the community of Richmond Hill. It offers a variety of camp sites, which include full hook-up RV site, partial hook-up tent sites and rental cabins, which all include a picnic table and fire ring. The facility has modern restrooms, private showers and a laundry area along with playground, outdoor swimming pool and picnic pavilion. There is a 35-acre lake on-site which includes complimentary boats for use by guests to explore the lake for fish.
