Australia's Mimosa Rocks National Park, 250 miles south of Sydney, is "an earthly paradise with dense and varied bush, caves, headlands, and beaches with crystal-clear water," according to Lonely Planet. It has four campgrounds outfitted with non-flush toilets but no drinking water.
Gillards campground, just south of Tanja, has 70 sites for caravan, trailer or car camping, and all are equipped with wood-burning barbecue grills.
The 12 tent-only sites at Middle Beach campground just north of Tanja are located about 300 feet from the parking area and have gas/electric barbecue grills.
Trailer and car camping is permitted at Aragunnu campground's 50 sites, all of which have wood-burning barbecue grills. The campground is located north of Wapengo.
The 18 wood-burning grill-equipped sites at Picnic Point campground are available to trailers and cars. The campground is at the end of Wapengo Lake Road.
All of the campgrounds charge A$10 per adult and A$5 per child per night, payable to the on-site authorized collector. None of the campgrounds takes advance bookings.
The park and campgrounds are open all year.
