There aren't many drive-in movie theaters around anymore, so finding one can be a special occasion. The Santee Drive-In Theatre is just the place to relive the bygone drive-in era. Two screens offer double-features of first-run movies for one ticket, at a price ($8.00) that is less expensive than general admission at your local first-run cineplex. Drive on in, put the top down, set your FM radio dial to the drive-in frequency and enjoy a film under the stars. Bring lawn chairs if you want to sit outside your vehicle, or park yourself in a special reserved section for tall cars such as SUVs, pickups and hatchbacks, so everyone can see the screen unobstructed. The box office is cash-only, and like the old days, somebody might check the trunk to see if you're sneaking anyone in for free. But just in case your battery goes dead during the evening The Santee Drive-In Theater has a battery booster standing by to help you get home.
