The rink, open until 10 pm on Saturdays, offers a staff of professional coaches for skating novices and sponsors events like broomball. Played on the ice with tennis shoes and a broom, Broomball is for ages six and up. Teams compete to knock a rubber ball through the opponent's goal. The Toyota Center in downtown Houston is the home for the Houston Rockets, the city's NBA team. The center is also one of Houston's top concert venues.
